We are the Lane family – Geoff Jenny Drew and Cara.
Some people enjoy holidays with guaranteed sunshine, good food, beach, pool and a comfy bed. We prefer something a little more unpredictable (although I am not sure Cara would agree with us sometimes). Geoff and I had already discovered a love for adventures before our lovely girls arrived on the scene. We took them on a trip to India when Cara was 2 and discovered to our surprise that travelling as a family is easier than on your own. Sure it presents its own set of challenges (food being the main one), but it gives you an in road into local communities that you don’t get on your own as the kids all play together.
We’ve travelled across much of the USA, ridden horses through Africa, and survived the crazy driving of S. America. This blog covers our more recent trips to Colombia and Ecuador. I wrote it mainly as a memoir for us as well as to re-assure my family that we are alive and well when we disappear for the whole of the summer. Enjoy
